Day 10 Friday Goals

Hello!
Today we are going to be visiting peer blogs by moving around to music in the room. You will have a handout with various things you will be looking for on the blogs you see. When the music stops, you sit down and read over the blog in front of you. This way, you get to pay attention to some blogs you might not have visited much over this past week.

After the musical chair activity, we will return to our own blogs and complete the blog bingo. Have fun...it's Friday!

Day 9 - Thursday Tasks

Hello!
Today is a day to catch up and to write one of your last posts for the week. Tomorrow, we will be visiting different blogs, including yours, so get them ready for viewing!
Here are the things you get graded for this week:

At least 3 posts about your topic. Each post should include 8-10 sentences with correct grammar and punctuation. I am seeing alot of sentences that don't begin with capital letters, so be sure to correct them! 15pts

One video created by you about your topic. 5pts

Comments made on 5 peer blogs. (Names on orange post-it). 5pts

You may have to go back and add some details to your posts. That's okay! Sometimes doing things backwards is more fun...like this guy shown eating cotton candy in reverse.:)

Day 2 -Tell me about yourself and create an Avatar!

Who are you? What makes you unique? For your 1st post, please answer and do the following:

1. What are three words that describe you? Are you a different person online than in real life? How do you change or not when you are online? Write a post (5-10 sentences) about how you are online (using texting, Twitter, Facebook, etc...) compared to how you are in real life when you talk face to face with people.

. When someone is online, they are usually represented by an avatar. An avatar is supposed to represent the real you. Create an avatar for yourself and insert the picture into your 3rd post along with the blog tag questions that you will copy from the list below.

Welcome! Hello! Who are you?

Hello class! Welcome to Blogging for Fun 101! You will learn so much in this course, especially if you have never blogged before. Every day, there will be something new for you to create and add to your online persona. I can't wait to see what you can do!

Your first task will be to set up your personal blog, of course....this means you need to pick templates, layouts, colors, etc...to make your blog a reflection of you. If it doesn't look the way you want right away, don't get discouraged...you can always change and add to it.

For today, please go to blogger and set up your own blog. You will need an email address and will be able to set up your own blog address. Please record your password and such, so that you can always get back in each day.  I will ask for a record of these passwords as well.

After you have your blog set up, please do the following:
1. Go to TEMPLATE and pick out your background. You may add images if you like and can figure it out. Blogger is relatively intuitive.

2. Go to LAYOUT and play around with how you want your blog elements to look. Remember - these can always be changed!

3. Write a few lines in the ABOUT ME sidebar. Add your photo as well if you can!

4. Try writing your first blog post using this prompt:

Are you a different person online than in real life? How do you change or not? Write a post (5-10 sentences) about how you are online (using texting, Twitter, Facebook, etc...) compared to how you are in real life when you talk face to face with people.
